I've been meaning to post some photos from Carnival for ages, but I only just finished the second roll. Thanks to the genii at the Snappy Snaps in Kensington High Street, the clearly labelled Kodak Ultra Colour 400 was scanned in B&W. Actually, as it was a cloudy day, I had been wanting to shoot a B&W film, so it wasn't such a disaster at all. Still, the incompetence is pretty shocking. I really enjoyed Carnival this year. It's been six years since I last went, but it was more fun than I remembered - maybe because I wasn't saving myself in the day to go out partying at night.

At one point in the afternoon, me and a couple of other friends were desperate for a piss. After searching in vain for a few increasingly panic-filled minutes, we found a spot behind a pair of big, chest-high rubbish bins down a quiet back street. Just as we were about to go behind them, a couple of girls came looking for a similar spot. Gentlemen to the end, we let them go first and then harangued them to hurry up from the comfort of a truck on the other side of the street. They took it in good heart, the spirit of the carnival, although they waited to watch us go, which frankly struck me as a little off. We tiptoed across their streams, and finally I let loose. It was only half way though the piss that I managed to open my eyes again and noticed the stern faced WPC standing behind the truck on the opposite side of the street watching me. The worst thing about it was that it had been quite some time since my last go, and the banks had been filled with a few Red Stripes, so I had the ignomony of having to stand there for about 30 seconds, effectively face-to-face with a female police officer while illegally watering the pavement. Oh well...all in the fun of the fair.
Also, I would have posted more things recently, but with my external hard drive deciding to commit harakiri with all my photos in, I've had other things on my mind.

Yo! Good to see you posting again mate! Keep em coming. You get the hard drive thing sorted?
It's at an extremely expensive data-recovery company at the moment...unbelievably annoying...all my music and all my photos. Proper piss-take...
