In lieu of a proper about page, which I am finding impossible to write at the moment, here is a list of stuff about me.
- I live in Kichijoji, Tokyo. It's a nice leafy suburb just outside the 23 districts of the centre of the city. I like it a lot.
- I like music. Specifically D&B and soul music.
- I work as an Assistant Language Teacher in a pretty dodgy public Junior High School in Ichikawa, Chiba. This basically means that I attempt to instill a love and knowledge of the language of Shakespeare in students who would rather be sodomized than study English. I also get a lot of time to play on the internet and study Japanese.
- I don't study Japanese.
- I should study Japanese.
I smoke(Wahey!).- I have had a strange pain in my foot since going snowboarding two weeks ago.
- I like Nintendo. A lot.
- I also like Playstations.
- I own too many records in Japan, and have no idea how I will ever be able to afford to ship them home.
- I find it annoying that fat people can effectively take more stuff (including their own fat) on planes than I can.
- I am becoming fat in order to try to get value-for-money on flights.
- I like tea.
- I like Macs (Apples and Donalds).
- I don't like Marxy at all. He sums up everything I don't like about people blogging in Japan...but that said, I feel the perverse need to read his blog periodically.
About Electric Pig:
Before starting on this website, I started blogging about 3 years ago on 20six. It was a pretty good way for someone like me to start writing on the web, as it required no knowledge of web-stuff at all. I kept on with that site periodically for about 2 years until they upgraded their blog software and it started to look really horrible. Then I looked for a free blog provider and chose Blogsome, which was pretty good, in that it allowed me to start using wordpress and customizing the look of the site a little, but of course then frustrated me as I couldn't customize it completely. So then in October last year, I signed up with Dreamhost for this website, during a special offer they were having. It has taken me about 6 months to get it to the stage it is at now, which considering I have worked on it pretty much everyday since then, is testament to:
- Just how annoying doing anything creative on the internet is.
- How f**king annoying some (though not all), people on the wordpress forum are.
- How much of a retard I am when it comes to stuff like this.
Incidentally the site is called Electric Pig, because that is what my name can be read as if written in Japanese Kanji, and because I couldn't think of anything else to call it. My mate Sid is witness to how bad at naming things I am.
