This is a new mix I made for February. Well, not especially for February, but I finished it this week, so it may as well be a "February" mix. It's the first time I've tried a mix of any genre of dance music other than D&B. Recently I've been trying to listen to some other styles, partly due to the fact that genres are refreshingly crossing over more and more. I haven't heard a lot of stuff that I like within this style, lots of stuff that sounds like squelchy D&B from a few years back, although there are a few artists who seem to be consistently making tracks that I really like, and whose tracks are on this mix. This is also probably the reason why there isn't the variation of artists that I would usually have in a mix. I don't really know what genre this would be called? Dubstep? Bass? Minimal Techno? And I haven't heard that many mixes either, so I may have made lots of unforgivable faux pas' in the eyes of those that have, but I like the way the tunes go together, and that's pretty much all I care about anyway. First shot with my new camera. There's obviously some kind of light-leaking problem on the left hand side, but apparantly it's pretty common, something to do with the foam under the darkslide that needs to be replaced, which I should be able to do myself if I can find the parts. Hopefully have it done before I go to Japan in a few weeks...

I haven't done one of these for a while, partly as I haven't been going in depth into Flickr too much recently. But anyway, here are my most recent favourites. I think my favourite of these has to be this one from a team of Spanish students who designed and built a weather balloon and camera combo, sent it off into the atmosphere and then retrieve the camera and develop the shots. It's a beautiful, beautiful shot!

This is a little experiment me and Eri did while I was in Japan. The lights presumably strobe in real life too, but I never really pay attention or my brain compensates or something, but here it's pretty noticeable, which I quite like. Eri did a pretty good job of staying still too!

From my lil'Sis' gig in Notting Hill. Unfortunately shot at 1600 ISO thanks to the low light and then worked on in PS. She was very good.

I made a new mix!!!111. This one's all tunes by Breakage, one of the more interesting producers out there. He's probably best known for his amen tunes, which are all very nice, but I've tried to stay away from those, partly as loads of other people have done mixes with those tunes, and partly as I'm not really into them. Actually, mostly as I'm not really into those. Anyway, the mix can be got from below or on the mixes page. Enjoy, and, as always, feedback is very welcome!

This is a ten shot panorama of the main reading room in the library at SOAS. I've been taking shots there all week, and I think that this is probably the best one, although I'm still not completely happy with it.
