Stag!

Saturday night was my friend Steve's stag night in preparation for his nuptuals next weekend. I took the Lomo with me and the flash, but for some reason the photos all came out a little, well, shit. These are probably the best of a bad bunch. Also, I am going to experiment a little here with the "continue reading..." function of the blog. I think the lightwindow gallery confuses some people and they don't see all the photos, so hopefully this should help fix that. For those that know how to use the lightwindow and prefer that, the usual gallery is still there, click this first photo, otherwise click the "continue reading" link:

A Study in Pete

I took a lot of photos with my Holga at my friend Pete's band's gigs. "The Grimace" were one of the most promising up-and-coming bands in Tokyo until the the malevolent influence of the Japanese wife of the band's artistic powerhouse and the banging-pots-and-pans-together musical influence of another member's vegetarian photographer wife put an end to their dreams. They have now parted ways. These shots are not especially clear, nor especially good, but I quite like the gritty atmosphere that the slightly distorted Holga plastic lens lends the shots. I think they work relatively well as shots from a (really) small venue. As ever, click the photo to see the whole gallery.

Autumnal Eri

A photo I took of my girlfriend at the local zoo a few weeks back. I got them back from the developers yesterday and this was the only shot out of 24 that was worth anything. Some of the others were so shit that they made me wonder if I had actually meant to take the picture or if my finger had pushed the shutter by accident or something. Normally paying 2000円 (£10) for one decent shot would quite annoy me, but I really like this one so I think for once it's worth it. Taken with my Lomo and cross-processed.
