This is a new mix I made for February. Well, not especially for February, but I finished it this week, so it may as well be a “February” mix. It’s the first time I’ve tried a mix of any genre of dance music other than D&B. Recently I’ve been trying to listen to some other styles, partly due to the fact that genres are refreshingly crossing over more and more. I haven’t heard a lot of stuff that I like within this style, lots of stuff that sounds like squelchy D&B from a few years back, although there are a few artists who seem to be consistently making tracks that I really like, and whose tracks are on this mix. This is also probably the reason why there isn’t the variation of artists that I would usually have in a mix. I don’t really know what genre this would be called? Dubstep? Bass? Minimal Techno? And I haven’t heard that many mixes either, so I may have made lots of unforgivable faux pas’ in the eyes of those that have, but I like the way the tunes go together, and that’s pretty much all I care about anyway.
